TRAFFIC ALERT Date: April 4, 2008 UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD REPAIRS TO CLOSE 7TH AVENUE Beginning at 6 a.m, on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, 7th Avenue will be closed at the Union Pacific Railroad crossing just north of Toole Avenue. 7th Avenue is scheduled to reopen by 6 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2008. The closure will facilitate Union Pacific Railroad’s efforts to perform maintenance work at the railroad crossing. For more information, please contact Union Pacific Railroad Engineering Supervisor Bob Caratachea at (602) 448-9036. Motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians traveling in the work area are asked to please obey all traffic control signs and be alert for construction equipment and personnel working in the area. The Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) keeps Tucson moving smoothly and safely. The Department’s nearly 400 employees oversee the maintenance and reconstruction of nearly 4,400 lane miles of streets and are responsible for hundreds of drainage structures, public art pieces, street lights and signs, and traffic signs and signals in Tucson. TDOT also operates the City’s transit services, Sun Tran and Van Tran. | ||
