TRAFFIC ALERT

Date: April 23, 2008

PENNINGTON STREET AND CHURCH AVENUE CLOSURE

Beginning at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, Pennington Street between Stone Avenue and Congress Street, and Church Avenue between Alameda Street and Congress Street will be closed to accommodate work at the Bank of America Building Downtown, 902 N. Stone Avenue. This work, being conducted by a Pima County contractor, requires a closure to allow work crews to install heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment and the use of a crane in the roadway. The closure is expected to be in place until 5 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2008.

The above schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or construction equipment malfunction.

For your safety, please observe all traffic control signage and watch for construction personnel and equipment in the work zone.

The Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) keeps Tucson moving smoothly and safely. The Department’s nearly 400 employees oversee the maintenance and reconstruction of nearly 4,400 lane miles of streets and are responsible for hundreds of drainage structures, public art pieces, street lights and signs, and traffic signs and signals in Tucson. TDOT also operates the City’s transit services, Sun Tran and Van Tran.
