CITY OF TUCSON DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

PROPOSED TRANSIT FARE INCREASE PUBLIC MEETINGS

The City of Tucson Department of Transportation will host six open houses for public review and comment on the proposed transit fare increase. Representatives from the City of Tucson, Sun Tran, and Van Tran will be available to answer questions and concerns regarding the proposed increase.

The open houses are scheduled as follows:

  • Wednesday, April 2, 2008 – 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., El Rio Neighborhood Center, 1390 W. Speedway Blvd
  • Monday, April 7, 2008 – 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Randolph Clubhouse, 600 S. Alvernon Way
  • Monday, April 7, 2008 – 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Clements Center, 8155 E. Poinciana Drive
  • Wednesday, April 9, 2008 – 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., TPD westside substation, 1310 W. Miracle Mile
  • Thursday, April 10, 2008 – 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Ward 2 Office, 7575 E. Speedway Blvd
  • Saturday, April 12, 2008 – 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., El Pueblo Neighborhood Ctr, 101 W. Irvington Road

The Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) keeps Tucson moving smoothly and safely. The Department’s nearly 400 employees oversee the maintenance and reconstruction of nearly 4,400 lane miles of streets and are responsible for hundreds of drainage structures, public art pieces, street lights and signs, and traffic signs and signals in Tucson. TDOT also operates the City’s transit services, Sun Tran and Van Tran.
